Frequently Asked Questions
What characters can be converted to Morse code? +
All letters A-Z, digits 0-9, and common punctuation (period, comma, question mark, exclamation, slash, parentheses, ampersand, colon, semicolon, equals, plus, minus, quote, at sign) are supported. Unsupported characters are skipped.
How does the audio playback work? +
The tool uses the Web Audio API built into your browser to generate real-time sine wave tones. Dots are short beeps and dashes are longer beeps, following standard Morse code timing ratios.
Can I adjust the playback speed? +
Yes, you can adjust the Words Per Minute (WPM) speed using the speed slider. Lower WPM gives you slower, easier-to-follow beeps while higher WPM is faster.
What do the dots and dashes mean in Morse code? +
A dot (ยท) represents a short signal and a dash (โ) represents a long signal (three times the length of a dot). Letters are separated by spaces and words are separated by larger gaps (shown as / in text).
Is this tool free and private? +
Yes, completely free with no sign-up required. Everything runs in your browser โ no data is sent to any server. Your text stays on your device.
